Dr. Gawer’s pioneering research on platform leadership, conducted and refined over more than 10 years, has tackled a large number of questions relative to the formulation and implementation of platform strategies. Through research (including fruitful collaborations with MIT faculty Michael Cusumano and Rebecca Henderson – who were Dr. Gawer’s PhD supervisors), and a portfolio of consulting and executive education engagements in a variety of industries, Dr. Gawer has developed unique and practical insights on the formulation and implementation of platform leadership strategies. She continues to develop research and publish in this area – which is experiencing a surge of interest from researchers worldwide.
